Ukrainian Language Competition

The Department of Education of Ukraine and the League of the Ukrainian Patrons of Art has announced, through the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, that three representatives of Canada are the winners of the IX International Competition for Ukrainian Language by Peter Yatsyk. Many students provided submissions in 2009 and of those the following 3 winners were chosen from Canada:

• Viktoriya Khmil, from Montreal,
• Danya Kolanich from Montreal, and
• Oksana Sovinska from Winnipeg

MPUE would like to congratulate Oksana Sovinska. She is currently a student in the English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program and attends Chief Peguis Junior High.
