Santa Claus Parade Participant Information

1. Date: Saturday, November 13th
2. OUR FLOAT NUMBER: Manitoba Parents for Ukrainian Education : SNOW QUEEN: Number 40
3. FLOAT LOCATION: Young Street (between Broadway and Portage Avenue)

4. Time to meet at the float: Between 4:00 and 4:15. Plan to come to early
as streets start closing. Monitor the internet or the newspaper for street
closings.
5. Each parade participant will be provided with a parade wristband.
6. Parade start: 5:00 pm
7. Parking is available at the GWL (Great-West Life Parking Lot) 50 Osborne
with shuttles taking you back to this parking lot (P7 parking lot) from the
Forks at the end of the parade. There will be shuttle buses running from
6:30 pm to 8:30 pm to take everybody back to the Great-West Life parking
area. Please be patient as there will be many participants.
8. The Forks entertainment starts at 7:00 pm with fireworks officially ending
the Parade at 7:30 pm. Again, the last Shuttle leaves P7 for the
Great-West-Life parking lot at 8:30 pm.
9. Float distance is about 2km and the time goes by very fast.
10. For those who participated in the last couple of years please wear your
MPUE toque
11. Wear warm clothing. Please let me know if your child would like to be an
angel (bye the way, last year some little boys also enjoyed being angels)
walking beside the float and if someone would like to hold the Canadian flag
along the route.
12. We will be handing out scarves for use by the children (if enough,
adults can also use them) during the parade to help identify our group and
children.
13. We will be handing out colouring contest sheets and lollipops to those
along the parade route.

Looks to be nice weather for Saturday so it should be an excellent evening
for a parade and have lots of fun.
