Embassy of Ukraine in Canada invites students and teachers of Canadian schools and universities, which studied the Ukrainian language, to participate in the 10thInternational Ukrainian Language Competition by Peter Jacyk.
The competition in Canada will hold by Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the League of Ukrainian patrons.
In order to obtain a competitive task, teachers, school administrators or parents should contact the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada e-mail press@ukremb.ca or by phone at (+1-613) 230-2961 ext. 105.
Participant’s work sent by March 1, 2010 electronically via e-mail to the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada press@ukremb.ca. Also, please send the original work to:

In the contest, please indicate the following:
-- full name of participant Ukrainian language (for proper clearance certificates to the winners and the winners);
--name of the teacher who prepared;
-- name of school where a student member;
-- parent’s or teacher’s telephone number;
-- parent’s or teacher’s Email address.
Original works will be sent to the Committee of the International Ukrainian Language Competition named Peter Jacyk (Kiev), where they will be encrypted and submitted to the jury, consisting of leading scientists and the best teachers in Ukraine. According to the audit work in accordance with the number of points will determine the winners and laureates of the competition.
Award winners X International Contest of Ukrainian Language by Peter Jacyk held in August 2010. Winners will be awarded diplomas and, second, third degree.
At the contest, please send feedback on teachers 'task to match the level of students' knowledge and complexity for sending this information to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
International Ukrainian Language Competition was initiated by the famous Ukrainian patron of Canada, Peter Jacyk. It aims at raising the social prestige and authority of the Ukrainian language. The competition aims to encourage young people striving for knowledge of the Ukrainian language, raising its prestige and to develop the respectful attitude to the language of his people.
Today the competition includes millions of children and young people in Ukraine and in over 20 countries.
In 2009, participants from Canada first participated in the contest and three of them just won. They are student 3-year study of the city Montreal Viktoriya Khmil, which ranked second, student 5-year study also Danya Kolanich of Montreal, which won second place and the pupil 6-year study of Winnipeg Oksana Sovinska, which won third place.
